This policy explains what personal information EdFlex collects through this website, why we collect it, and how we protect it. We follow the principles of Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
We only collect the information you choose to send us through our forms:
- Contact Us form: your name, email address, subject and message.
- Course review form: your name, work email, institution, program, the type of help you need, course details, timeline and message.
We do not ask for, and you should not send, sensitive personal information such as student records or health information.
Why we collect it
We use your information only to reply to you, to prepare for and hold a course review, and to keep a record of our conversation. We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we do not add you to a mailing list.
How your information is handled
- When you submit a form, your message is sent by email to our inbox and a confirmation is sent to the email address you provide. The website does not keep a copy of form submissions in its database.
- Emails are delivered using Amazon Simple Email Service (Amazon Web Services).
- Our email inbox is provided by Google Workspace.
- The website is hosted on a secure server and protected by a firewall and security monitoring (Wordfence), which records basic technical information such as IP addresses to block attacks.
These service providers may process information on servers located in Canada or in other countries, including the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of those countries.
reCAPTCHA and other Google services
Our forms and login page use Google reCAPTCHA to protect against spam and abuse. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information, such as device and browser data, and sends it to Google for analysis. Your use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. The site also loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers.
Cookies
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not currently use analytics. Cookies may be set by reCAPTCHA for security purposes, and by WordPress only for people who log in to manage the site.
How long we keep it
We keep emails and related records only as long as we need them to respond to you, to work with you, or to meet legal and accounting requirements. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. To make a request, email support@edflex.ca. If you have a concern we cannot resolve, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
